Overview
The water treatment plant located in Dorval, Québec offers guided tours through the facility for young elementary school students. The water reservoirs in the facility were protected by a guardrail to prevent people from falling in.
Problem
The existing water reservoir guardrails did not meet the National Building Code. The materials used to build the guardrails were not corrosion resistant at the time. They were in poor shape due to the chemicals being used and lengthy exposure to a high humidity environment.
Solution
Fibergrate recommended Dynarail Commercial Guard System, including gates, as a solution to the problems outlined. This brought the guardrails up to code and is maintenance free for this specific environment and chemicals used in this type of facility. In addition, it provided a nice aesthetic upgrade to the space.
